About Me
I truly love sharing yoga! I am continually humbled by this multi-faceted practice that can benefit everyone in some way. Whether you are looking to stretch or strengthen your body, calm your nervous system, find peace of mind or help your brain get to know your body more intimately, yoga meets you where you are! And while not every aspect is for everyone at any given time, there is something for everyone in any given class. The yoking of the breath with the movement is the beginning of the magic.
I am amazed by the resiliency of the human body and how it allows us to experience the world around us. Yoga sequences designed to direct your full attention to your body by feeling in and witnessing movement can ultimately assist in preventing injuries and improving balance. Directing the movement of our breath has the power to speak to our nervous system and help us become more intentional in our reactions.
Energy is all around us. Life can be hard and excessively busy. Practicing stillness can be uncomfortable and yet the act of the practice can teach us about ourselves and the world around us. Yoga not only serves as the doorway into understanding how the energy moves within us, but allows us to shape the energy we put back into the world.
My Yoga Story:
Like so many, I started my regular practice of yoga in response to an athletic injury and got more serious about my personal yoga exploration when I was searching for answers during a life transition. But it was the teachings of my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2019 through Blue Lotus that lit a fire in me and solidified my love of this ancient practice and all of the tools it has to offer.
I believe that to teach you must do! I am a student and practitioner first so I can continue to evolve the depth of my personal practice through continued study. I completed my RYT-500 in 2022 and received ERYT-200 and YACEP in 2024. I’d love to share this practice with you.
Why Zoom?
While I was originally suspect of teaching yoga over Zoom, I have come to appreciate the added agency of experience at each yogi’s fingertips when they are in their own living rooms and sometimes in their PJ’s. Zoom classes provide a community of fellow practitioners and an interactive experience for those who want to keep their cameras on--something beyond what can be found on a YouTube video.
